Graduation Day @shillington_
I first starting designing when I was 14.
I launched a local newspaper called the PutneyPages delivering it to neighbours and newsagents. An ambitious first gig admittedly but I loved the challenge of creating something enticing out of nothing and then sharing it with the world. After that came T-shirts, party invitations, tickets to events, posters for school shows, a website called George's World (the facebook before facebook)... you name it, I made it!

Despite my original love for design, my first job was as a copywriter for GQ Magazine (after a brief stint hanging up clothes in the fashion cupboard). Later I moved into digital advertising for CBS, producing hundreds of campaigns for big brands across the Tube's (then shiny new) network of digital screens.

As a digital producer, I lent over the shoulders of many graphic designers yet secretly yearned to be the one sat in the chair – wielding the mouse. It wasn't long before I answered that childhood calling and retrained as a freelance graphic designer at London's Shillington College.

Curious & Curiouser...

I love the way there are essential principals to graphic design but there's also an alchemy and a magic to it.
For clients, graphic design must solve business problems; how to appear, to stand out, to engage, to hit the right note with their audience. Everything in the public eye needs designing.

When I'm not hunched over Photoshop (reminding myself to sit up straight!) I'm telling other people to sit up straight as a Classical Pilates teacher. And if you're interested to know more about that you can check out my teaching page here @pilatesbygeorge

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
